Three years. Three years sharing life with our Moody 40, a boat with history, robust and reliable, a travel companion who enters our lives to add experiences and to learn as much from the sea as from ourselves.
Three years ago, we bought the boat in Burriana and moved it to Alicante, where we settled with our floating home in the small port of San Gabriel. We spent nearly two years there, a time that now seems excessive, but which proved invaluable in turning the Blue into our true home. It was in that place where we learned to know ourselves better, as well as the boat, while forging bonds with the inhabitants of that beloved spot. During those months, we undertook our first great journey: a voyage to the Balearic Islands accompanied by a great friend experienced in the sea. We spent about 20 days sailing together, facing our first challenges as a crew and discovering the magic of the Balearic Islands.
This area of the Levante has been our main stage, a place where the salty breeze and crystal-clear waters have welcomed us. The Mediterranean, especially the Mar Menor, has become our true playground. There, we spent a season living at anchor, exploring hidden coves, picturesque ports, and creating unforgettable memories with new friends. Every corner we visited left us with a lesson, another story to tell.
The Blue is more than just a boat; it is our home, our refuge, the place where we have shared laughter, silence, and challenges. In its weathered planks and ropes strained against the wind, we have found a daily lesson: the importance of living in the present, enjoying each sunrise over the water and each sunset painting the horizon.
This year, however, the compass points towards the unknown. There is no plan, no final destination. Only the immensity of the sea and the promise of new experiences. The freedom of having no limits, of letting the wind and waves guide us. It's a leap of faith, yes, but a leap we yearn for. The uncertainty excites us, the possibility of discovering unexpected places, of meeting fascinating people, of living adventures we cannot yet imagine.
Taking care of the boat, taking care of ourselves, that is our priority. Making a living, day by day, in each port, in each encounter. Distance is no longer an obstacle, but an opportunity to grow, to connect with nature and with ourselves. The friends we have made along the way are our most precious treasure, bonds forged in salt and wind, in the complicity of sharing a life at sea. This year, distance will lead us to new friends, new places, new stories to tell. The journey continues.
